9 Winning Willamette Pinot Noir Wines (Wine Spectator)

Tasting Highlights' wine reviews are fresh out of the tasting room, offering a sneak peek of our editors' most recent scores and notes to WineSpectator.com members.

Oregon Pinot Noir lovers are spoiled these days. The 2017 vintage is the fourth consecutive excellent vintage for Willamette Valley's signature red, with the 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages all achieving a classic rating.

The 2017 vintage looks promising, although the growing season was a departure from the previous three. The spring was cool and soggy, which delayed flowering, while the summer was hot and dry.

This week's new releases offer a little slice of Oregon Pinot and what it has to offer. They range in price from $18 to $45, with both general Willamette Valley bottlings and single-vineyard wines. Stylistically, you'll find everything from easygoing Pinots to refined, deeply structured versions.
