SUMMARY:Sharon VFD Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:The much anticipated 2nd Wine Tasting "On the Green" is open for reservation.\n\nFun for casual to studious wine drinkers. Over 50 wines different wines will be poured\, from everyday to amazing and from inexpensive to luxurious.\n\nReserve here for Saturday\, September 19th from 5:00-7:00 PM for a terrific Fall evening under a spacious tent on the beautiful and historic Sharon Green.\n\nThis is the Sharon Fire Department & Sharon Ambulance major fund raising event of 2015.\n\n\n\nThe Tasting\n\nIn addition to the over 40 wines shown attendee's will be able to taste select releases from Founders Brewing and Patron Tequila.\n\nThe tasting is done in a relaxed walk-around format under a spacious tent.\n\nGuests will be provided a detailed Wine Guide describing each wine’s origin and characteristics making it easy to compare and track favorites.\n\nAll wines are available for sale and delivery by organizer Kent Wine & Spirit with proceeds from those purchases donated to The Sharon Fire Department & Sharon Ambulance.\n\nWatch this space and Kent Wine Facebook for continuing developments!\n\nReserve Today!\n\nDid you know...?\n\nThe 63 member of the Sharon Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) and Sharon Ambulance are on call 24 hours a day- every day of the year- to serve and protect the people of Sharon.\n\nWe are a totally volunteer organization and never charge for our services.\n\nThe Department owns the Firehouse at 36 West Main Street in Sharon and all their apparatus and equipment. Each year The Department receives $100\,000 from the Town of Sharon for operating expenses\, $55\,000 for capitol expenses and our insurance is covered. Other costs which are incurred\, need to be covered from our volunteers fund raising efforts and donations. At this time\, Sharon Ambulance receives $10 a year from the Town of Sharon and is able to cover all expenses with fund raising events\, memorial gifts\, donations and our Monthly Pancake Breakfast.\n\nThe newest fire engine is 15 years old- and The Department still operates a 1953 vehicle! Today\, a new fire engine costs a minimum of $300\,000. Initial fire training costs are about $600\, with gear costing anywhere from $2-3\,000 per person trained.\n\nThe current ambulance is 5 years old. Since that purchase\, we have added a complete Stryker System (stretcher and power load) costing approximately $45\,000 and a new hydraulic system for $10\,000. It costs approximately $800 to train a new EMT and outfitting them with radio and gear is about $500.\n\nOur major fund raising event for 2015 is Wine Tasting on the Green.
